CHAIN OF PONDS

Chain of Ponds was a small light installation created as part of the Weaving Water art interventions. The installation coincided with the community gathering as part of the Resilient Farmer’s and Capertee Hydrology projects to talk about Natural Sequence Farming with Stuart Andrews (Tarywn Park Training) and share a dinner together.

Not only did the artwork herald a community event, it was specifically sited by Umbiella Creek within a stand of reeds, phragmites australis, a significant floodplain species, signaling the ability to slow, hold and cleanse water in that area. These were key take-away concepts from the evening discussion, as was subterranean water found within a chain of ponds system.

Plywood, paper, fabric, wax, glass, LEDs, solar lights, solar array.
